Jay Hoffman, Ph.D., is a professor in the Sport and Exercise program and professor of medicine at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida. He is the director of the Institute of Exercise Physiology and Wellness, and served from 2009-2012 as president of the board of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). As a sports scientist, Dr. Hoffman has published more than 260 articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and eight books. He was named the 2007 Outstanding Sport Scientist from the Year from the NSCA and 2005 Outstanding Kinesiology Professional Award from the Neag School of Education of the University of Connecticut.
