SupplySide West is pursuing CarbonNeutral® Event Certification for the first time at our 2022 event in Las Vegas. Going carbon neutral means that we continue reducing our greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible, and compensate for the remaining carbon emissions our show emits (from travel, hotel stays, energy-use, waste, etc.) through the purchase of high-quality ICROA-approved carbon offsets.
What is a CarbonNeutral® Event Certification?
A designation that demonstrates our event has achieved carbon neutrality in line with the CarbonNeutral Protocol. This certification is administered by Climate Impact Partners, and is a global standard managed for over 20 years to deliver clean, conclusive, and transparent carbon neutral programs. The carbon footprint of our event is verified by a third-party company, Bureau Veritas. This initiative is part of the FasterForward - Faster to Zero commitment to becoming completely carbon neutral as a business by 2025 by our parent company, Informa.
CarbonNeutral® Event Sponsor: Nutriterra®
Nutriterra® Total Omega-3, An Ocean of Nutrition within a Canola Seed
Derived from Nuseed® Omega-3 Canola, Nutriterra is a plant-based source of seven long-chain fatty acids, including DHA, EPA, and ALA. This sophisticated biotechnology reduces pressure on marine resources. Just 1-2 hectares of Nuseed Omega-3 canola produce as much DHA as 10,000 one kg fish! Nutriterra unlocks the power of plants to solve environmental challenges and is proud to sponsor SSW carbon neutrality.

SupplySide West attendees can stay healthy and hydrated by using their re-usable water bottles at sustainable water stations throughout the expo hall. By taking part, you are helping to reduce the carbon and waste generated by single-use water bottles. It’s estimated that 8-9 million metric tons of plastic end up in the ocean every year –the equivalent of one garbage truck of material every minute. Thank you for choosing to re-use in an effort to keep our oceans plastic-free. [NOAA] These water stations are provided by our Official Water Sustainability Sponsor: Aker BioMarine.
Aker BioMarine is a biotech innovator and Antarctic krill-harvesting company, dedicated to improving human and planetary health. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and we have initiatives to reduce our CO2 footprint and have full circularity on our waste streams. Water conservation and protection is essential for life on the planet. We continuously track our water usage and have initiatives to reduce water and chemicals in production to minimize our environmental impact.
